Ibanez SR400QM pretty much falls in line with previous SR400 models, and represents well balanced middle of this series of bass guitars. It is an affordable solution from Ibanez, which delivers a good sound and solid performance.

Ibanez SR400QM features the standard SR body shape and is made of basswood with a quilted maple top. The neck is a five piece, maple/rosewood design, and comes with a rosewood fretboard. It's slim and relatively fast neck that is bolted to the body using four bolts. Ibanez SR400QM is very comfortable to play and well balanced, just like its predecessor.

For a mid range SR series, Ibanez SR400QM offers some features that you won't find in other basses in this price range. The electronics are active, and sport a 3-band EQ, which gives you more versatility and options when it comes to sound. CAP EXF-N2 pickups are great, and offer great sound that can be used in almost any application.

One of the only downsides of Ibanez SR400QM is the quality control. While it's a great bass guitar, the build quality is not always great. Some Ibanez SR400QMs will come with defects, so you need to carefully inspect these when you buy them.

  • Basswood/quilted maple top body
  • 5 piece maple/rosewood neck
  • Rosewood fretboard
  • 3-Band EQ

Ibanez SR400 series was always the go-to choice for an affordable bass that you know will deliver good performance. It sports an attractive design and great active electronics, which can be produce a variety of tones. Build quality is not always the best, but with some caution you can get yourself a very good bass guitar.
