Canon 750D/T6i Review

The Good: Canon's new 24.2MP CMOS sensor has pretty good image quality, and decent low light performance, especially considering the price of this camera. The touchscreen display on the back can be flipped to the side and rotated in almost any position, which makes it very useful and easy to use.

The Bad: The camera has only 19 AF points, which is an upgrade compared to its predecessors, but the number of points is lower relative to some of its peers. Battery life could be better.

The Verdict: If you're a beginner photographer and looking to buy your first DSLR camera, then Canon T6i (750D) is probably your best bet. It produces high resolution images, and is able to take photos in a variety of shooting scenarios and conditions. The camera also features full HD 1080p recording and manual exposure control.

Features

Compared to Canon 700D/Rebel T5i, the T6i has plenty of new features including a new higher resolution sensor, more modern DIGIC 6 image processor, better auto focus system and Wi-Fi. What does this mean for you? Essentially, you'll be able to take better photos more easily. Image quality is amazing for its price range, and photos look very good until ISO 3200, when a slight increase in grain is introduced. Thanks to the higher resolution sensor, you can reframe and adjust your shots later on without losing a lot of quality.

Build Quality

Build quality is as high as it gets at this price point. The chassis is entirely made out of plastic, but it's very solid and it has no flex or squeaks. Panels are rubberized on both sides, which feels great, but there's absolutely no weather sealing, so be careful when using the camera in dusty and wet environments.

Conclusion

We are really impressed with the Canon 750D/T6i 24.2MP sensor. It produces incredibly clean images with low noise levels. Detail and color reproduction are stunning for its class. Yes, the autofocus system could be better, but it's definitely not something that will set you back, especially if you're just a beginner. Like we mentioned before, the camera's battery life is its only major drawback, but other than that T6i is truly a superb entry level DSLR.
