Asus VS228H-P Review

Overview

Asus VS228H-P is a 21.5" monitor that is far from being too attractive, but it delivers a good and reliable performance. It's versatile, and represents a great option for a budget gaming experience. 

Design and Performance

First thing you will notice about this monitor are the sizable bezels.  VS228H-P  is also pretty thick, although it sports a curved back side. Asus didn't invest much of their time and money in the aesthetics of this model. However, it is good where it counts the most. Main controls are located on the right hand side of the bottom bezel, and are standard. Asus VS228H-P comes with one DVI-D, one HDMI, and one VGA port. This monitor is VESA ready, and can be easily mounted on a wall. 

The panel is a standard LED unit that features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate. The colors are great for the price, and combined with a decent refresh rate, it is capable of delivering a great gaming experience. One issue that seems to be occurring with this monitor is inconsistent quality. It appears that more than one factory makes these, and their quality is noticeably different.

Conclusion

Asus VS228H-P is a versatile LED monitor that has the right specs to make it a great choice for gaming. It's not the most attractive monitor on the market, but you get what you pay for. The only real issue is the inconsistency between units made by different factories. Asus should really get on top of that quickly.
