Acer H226HQL is one of those monitors that simply look like they should cost way more than they actually do. Acer has proven that they can build a great product in a budget price range, that doesn't cut corners, and gives you a great experience.
Frameless design with a glossy IPS panel really make the Acer H226HQL stand out from the competition. However, this is also one feature that scares away a good portion of potential users. Some like the glossy panel, others don't, but the fact is that you rarely see this kind of design in a budget monitor. The stand is simple, but very stable, which is great since the Acer H226HQL is not VESA compatible. There is no height control, although you can tilt the monitor some 15 degrees up, and 5 degrees down. The controls are located on the bottom of the frame which is unusual, but functional enough. Acer H226HQL comes with DVI, HDMI and D-Sub inputs, a headphone jack, and a set of speakers.
Acer H226HQL sports a, 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution which looks great on a 21.5" monitor. The 1000 000 000:1 dynamic and 5ms response time make this Acer more than great to look at even for extended periods of time. Viewing angles are good, however considering the glossy nature of the IPS panel, you might have to watch where your light sources are in the room. There is some IPS glow, but nothing that would ruin your experience with this Acer.
Acer H226HQL is one of the rare budget monitors that has so many great features. At this price it's a no-brainer, for most users. However its glossy nature is not appreciated by everyone, making it a good and a bad feature at the same time. Super thin bezels make this model great for multi-screen configuration that won't break your wallet.
