Why is the Acer Aspire E5-573G a great student laptop under $500?

It's not easy to find a powerful laptop in this price range. The Acer Aspire E5-573G is essentially a cheap gaming laptop, but it can serve another purpose as well — it's powerful enough to be useful for students studying programming, engineering, graphic design and more. And when exams are over you get to play a game or two.

This laptop sports a powerful Intel processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 940M GPU. This is enough power for basically any task you may encounter during your studies. If there's one thing that's slightly holding this laptop back, it is the slow hard drive.

The screen features a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, which is pretty impressive in this price range. This means you'll be able to multitask more easily, as you can have two applications visible on your screen at once, which will help increase your productivity.

Unfortunately, with powerful specs and larger screen size comes one issue — the laptop is pretty heavy, which will turn away some college students. However, if power is your primary need, definitely go for it.

Tech Specs:

  • Screen Resolution: 1920x1080 pixels
  • Processor: 2.2 GHz Intel Core i5-5200U
  • Memory: 8GB RAM DDR3
  • Storage: 1,000GB HDD
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 940M
  • Weight: 5.3 pounds (2.4 kg)
  • Dimensions: 10.08 x 15.02 x 1.15 inches (25.6 x 38.1 x 2.9 cm)

Conclusion

This laptop is the perfect choice for college students who need a powerful computer. It can easily handle pretty much anything you decide to throw at it. Also, thanks to its powerful processor and GPU, you can play a game or two after you're done studying. If you're searching for a portable laptop, however, you'll have to look elsewhere.
